The Marymia project comprises four tenements extending over 75 kilometres along the Jenkin Fault zone. The geology is interpreted as granitoid of the Marymia Inlier, containing greenstone enclaves and and remnant Proterozoic basin sediments.  In places the basement and older sediments are concealed by onlapping sediments of the Earaheedy Group and to the east the bedrock is concealed by transported sand.

The tenements have received limited previous exploration for gold and diamonds. Most drilling has been carried out for diamond exploration, targeting discrete magnetic anomalies.  Lodestar completed a regional VTEM survey and regional geochemical sampling over the western part of the tenements in 2011,  The VTEM survey was flown over a sedimentary basin and adjacent major structures, including the Jenkin Fault that intersects and truncates the basin on its south eastern margin.  The basin contains extensive dolerite intrusions and sills suggesting a rift setting, similar to the adjacent Yerrida Basin.  The VTEM survey identified two shallow-dipping, late-time VTEM conductors that each extend over several hundred metres, named the Transformer prospect.  This area is upstream from a site from which a stream float sample reported 805ppm Pb and 10g/t Ag.  The Transformer area was subsequently soil sampled; revealing base metal anomalies associated with the surface projection of the VTEM conductors.  The Transformer prospect and the entire host sedimentary sequence of 100 square kilometres was previously unexplored.

Exploration Targets

  • Currently the Transformer prospect and surrounding area is a priority for dtill testing.  Detailed geochemical sampling is underway along the western and northern margins of the basin sequence.
  • Exploration will be extended into areas under cover after the acquisition of detailed aeromagnetics data.
